Hilaire Belloc

Hilaire Belloc (1870-1953) was an English Catholic author who is best known for his book The Servile State, published in 1912.  He, like his friend G.K. Chesterton, believed that neither socialism nor capitalism were economically consistent with the ethics of a Christian society and supported the economic theory of distributism (wide distribution of property for all families).  Many consider The Servile State to be one of the best primers on distributism.
